A Simple Kitchen
Design Process
I've been in an art block and create a narrative piece. I chose to do my kitchen because as of late from the pandemic, I've come to appreciate simple moments. A simple moment to washing dishes or taking the time to sit down and appreciate how beautiful the moment is.
I started working out the rough lifework of how everything would go with my
reference photo. From there, I began to refine the lines and block in the shadows and colour for the line work version of this illustration. These lines would be my guide the for the second version of this illustration.
The one issue I had creating both of these illustration was staying in line with the colour palette I had set up for myself. Keeping a limited colour palette while staying saturated was difficult. I found that blocking in all the colours helped me have a better view of the where the colours would go and changing the colours up. This would help divide and provide hierarchy so the viewer could have a better view of this illustration.
